Celebrating 1 year of Interoots!

One year ago today, I officially launched Interoots, and what a year it's been! The journey to get here started months before, as I worked with an agency on my branding, website, and polishing my programs. Even before that, I was testing my ideas, doing pilot sessions, conducting a lot of market research, and growing my network.

But the real story began years earlier, after I left my 16-year corporate HR career and became an expat mom of two toddlers, in Paris, during the pandemic. As an experienced expat who had lived in over 10 cities, I thought I knew what to expect. But being an expat mother showed me a whole new set of challenges that families face when moving abroad. And I can say I was not ready for it!

Just after 1 year we relocated to Barcelona, and this time the move was a lot smoother. Not only because I was doing it for the second time, but because I understood that I had to look at other aspects of my life beyond my children and their adaptation. I met with many other parents, not merely out of curiosity or a desire for casual coffee chats, but with the conviction that I could learn valuable insights and powerful lessons from their experiences. By having these meaningful conversations, I knew I could gather knowledge that would not only benefit my own family but could also be shared and multiplied to help other expat families navigating similar challenges.

That's when I realized I could make a real difference. With my professional background in "people & culture" and my personal experience as an expat mom, I realized I had the skills and insight to help other families navigate the challenges of moving abroad. Knowing that 70% of unsuccessful relocations happen because families struggle to adapt, I felt driven to do something about it. I wanted to be part of the solution, to help expat families succeed, living balanced and fulfilling lives abroad.

A year in, I'm so grateful for everything I've learned about running a business, the new skills I've gained, and the incredible people I've met who are now part of my network and my work. But the best part? Knowing I've made a difference for my clients and their families.

And I know this is just the beginning. I'm always looking for opportunities to grow, help others, add vlaue, and keep reinventing myself as an expat. That's what keeps me going.

So, happy 1st birthday, Interoots! And a huge thank you to everyone who's been part of this amazing year.
